Fruit and Vegetable Waste: Physicochemical and nutritional characterization for utilization in anima feeding. in recent years, tons per days of solid waste, including food waste are disposed to landfill sites. Food waste represents about 40-50% of the biodegradable municipal wastes.

An alternative for the use of the biodegradable fraction of municipal waste is the production of animal feeding (Pinacho et la., 2006). The aim of this study was to characterize fruit and vegetable wastes collected from a Despair food store supermarket in Messina (Italy) to use in animal feeding.
